"New Brand Introduction - Xolla Wool"
Perhaps the same frequency, always deeply attracted by small personal yarn brands, as well as different from the usual bulk wool varieties.
The new brand of this collaboration is Xolla Wool, a unique wire from Ripollesa, an endangered sheep breed from Catalonia, Spain.
I particularly love and admire Elena "From Sheep to Skein", founder of Xolla Wool – the brand's core values from wool to wire.
Originally living in France and Spain, Elena regained her weaving, hand-spinning and hand-dyeing thread many years ago and was surprised to find that among the many wools she handled, were common commercial wool, which was missing only in the local sheep breed.
After she settled in Catalonia, she observed that the traditional industry of animal husbandry, which was in decline in the region, is an important link between the local environment, culture and life, and the original main sheep breed, Ripollesa, is facing an endangered fate.
So she began to personally participate in the collection of Ripollesa sheep wool, working with small, semi-industrial family factories in various regions to establish a traceable yarn chain that assisted the relevant industry - Xolla Wool was born.
While chatting with Elena, we found that we are all lovers of non-ultra-washed wire, especially fascinated by this "traditional, rustic, a little imperfect, full of sheep smell and historical culture" 100% wool thread.
When developing the filament, in addition to retaining the natural color of Ripollesa, Elena also uses acid dyes that have a low impact on the environment to create colors with a southern European style.
If you also like knitting while pulling grass in the thread, feeling full of mutton fat when washing your hands, and experiencing the wire of the native sheep, you must try Xolla Wool!
P.S brushed a wooden board with a clear water mold feeling, and the texture of the photo was completely different from before, and I liked this old monochrome
